Meet Kris Mason

Kris Mason, Family Advisor

Kris’ mother will tell you that she knew at the age of 5 years old that she wanted to serve seniors and their families. That’s exactly what she have done for the last 30 years. 

Born and raised in Denver CO, Kris moved to Washington in 1987.  Kris became a  Licensed Nurse in 1992 and began her career serving seniors in skilled nursing communities for 8 years.  Kris went on to become an Executive Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities in 2000.  

In her Assisted Living  roles Kris worked as the Executive Director for several well known, reputable long term care companies.  Seattle based companies Merrill Gardens and Living Care Lifestyles and most recently for Sunrise Senior Living as the Executive Director of their community in Edmonds, WA.

Kris has served as a Board Member of Excellence NW, Alzheimer’s Society (now Dementia Support Northwest) and Elder Service Providers.  

Kris and her husband participate with and supports the following organizations- Elder Service Providers, Alzheimer’s Association, NAMI, ALPHA Supported Living, Puget Sound Regional Services and other local organizations in their community. 

Kris currently lives in Maple Falls WA with her husband, Ed, also a Long Term Care Professional.   They purchased a beautiful home on 5 acres, tucked between two mountains and minutes from Mt. Baker.  Kris’ parents, Kathleen and Richard, joined them on the “Family Farm”.  Together they enjoy taking care of their farm animals including chickens, goats, pigs, cats and 3 dogs.   They also enjoy working on their farm and in the greenhouse planting and harvesting a wide variety of vegetables and produce.
